Used Book Pickup Process

You can call, text, email, or even submit a request directly from this site. We are available most days, nights, and weekends so don’t hesitate to reach out. Currently we are accepting used book from Baltimore and the surrounding areas; however, if you are outside of the area with a large used book collection please reach out.
What to Expect
Once an appointment has been scheduled, a professional team member will be dispatched to your location. Prior to their arrival, they will call to confirm the appointment time and your availability. Here at Local Book Pick Up, we know your time is valuable so we will bring sufficient manpower and equipment to your location to ensure the book removal process is quick and seamless. Local Book Pick Up will make sure that your donated used books find a new home. We look forward to hearing from you.
How to Pack Your Books
If the books are already packed into boxes, great; however, this is not a requirement. During the scheduling process please let us know if the used books are packed or unpacked. This information is important because it will let the driver know to bring packing materials. If you are going to pack the used books yourself, it’s best to load in your heaver larger books first and to fill in the gaps in the box if possible. Please remember we are here to help. What Books We Accept
Local Book Pick Up does our best to ensure that your used books end up in the hands of readers. To make sure that we live up to this ambitious goal, we need your help. From our experience it’s hard to find new homes for books that are dirty, moldy, water damaged, and with missing pages. We are asking that you don’t donate any of those types of books. Typically we do accept all book genres; however, at the moment we are not accepting mass market romance novels or study materials with excess writing or highlighting. In some cases your books may be sold or recycled.
