Local Book Pickup was created to solve a problem.

We're an independent Baltimore area book removal and redistribution service that helps downsizing seniors, families and estates remove large book collections. Whenever appropriate, books are responsibly redistributed through resale, reuse, donation and community partnerships.

We're not a charity, a national chain or a junk removal company. We're a local business focused on making large book collections easier to remove during life's major transitions.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Carter spent years in the used book business before recognizing a problem few organizations were solving. Families didn't need help deciding what to do with their books. They needed someone who could remove a lifetime of books safely, efficiently and responsibly. That insight became Local Book Pickup.
